Diefenbunk Cold War Museum
Project Description
The Diefenbunker is a former WW2 nuclear bunker created to house the canadian government in the unlikely event of nuclear war. The four story underground building has since been decommissioned and turned into a museum. The many floors display numerous artifacts and staged work areas. The museum hosts many over night activities and summer camps targets towards students.

Interactive Timeline
Using some creative math I created a pseudo 3d engine within Flash using a depth of field it gives a visual representation of the passing of time off into the distance. As you jump from year to year you also get a quick sense of when tensions were at their highest. My goal was to create an applet that was a fun to interact with as much as it is effective in teaching you about the subject. I created the icons where created in 3D Studio Max to help push the pseudo 3D effect to believability.

Missile Command
I made a updated version of the classic arcade game Missile Command that had great yet simple game play, adding some 3D graphics and using canada as the backdrop really worked with the project goals. With each level the task of saving your country becomes harder and harder to almost impossible, part of the reasoning for this is to communicate the inevitability of “no one wins” when engaging in nuclear war. I used a mixture of 3D and 2D combined in the Flash environment to create this interactive game.

Bunker Blueprints
This tool was created to allow visitors to explore the different levels of the bunker though the actual blueprints of the bunker. The app has hot spot roll overs that contain additional text and images to exaplin more about the different areas. i also programed a magnifying lens that allows you to zoom in to get a better look and read text of the maps.

Rad Sniffer Game
This game uses alot of the math created for the time applet, using a psudo 3D engine I was able to create a 3D debrise field to navigat thought, capture the sniffer box and return it to the bunker for inspection. Thropughout the field you have many obsticles like bomb craters and a variety of undead zoombies that you must avoid and do so within a limited amount of time.
