With the threat of nuclear war at our door steps, the Government of Canada took many measures to ensure the survival of our nation. Under the orders of Prime Minister John Diefenbaker, the construction of a four story underground nuclear bunker designed to house top government and military officials took place from 1958-61 in the town of Carp, Ontario.

This once “top secret” documentary film takes you, the viewer, on a historical journey of the construction of the infamous "Diefenbunker". The film is about ten minutes long and details many of the different building stages and equipment necessary to construct an underground structure capable of withstanding a nuclear blast!
